Please stay alert if you are anywhere along the west coast of the USA or along any pacific coast line.

This was all caused by a series of aftershocks in the 5.0-6.8 range following a major 7.7 earthquake.

Update 2257 PST-

In this image of a seismograph from the northern part of the San Francisco bay area, one can see the strength of the seismic wave generated by the 7.7. This wave took only about 8 minutes to reach the northern part of California and began rattling the fault lines all along the west coast. Now is a great time to double check all preparedness plans and make sure that they would be able to be in affect at this time of night an year.

Update 2321 PST-
According to WeatherBug.com and NOAA weather there are Tsunami warnings issued as far south as Flumeville, Ca. and Fort Bragg, Ca. Any coastal towns along the west coast of the USA and Canada that geographically face NE should be on high alert and avoid being too close to the coast for the next 8-12 hours. Also any coastal areas that have a small marina or inlet that may amplify the waves should see to it that no residents attempt to rescue their boats in this time. Wait for the waves to pass.

Very similar to the last but it is a new update that shows the severity of this event. All northern pacific coast lines should be on some form of alert at this point.

Update 0023 PST-
It seems that the threat of a tsunami has been lifted from the coastal regions of the continental US. Yet a tsunami alert still remains for the islands of Hawaii. All sides of the islands are potential tsunami zones no matter what direction it approaches from. Here is the link to the latest NOAA tsunami alert for Hawaii:

Nothing has change for this report, yet NOAA states that it will be putting out hourly post, unless the situation becomes worse or is canceled.

Update 0701 PST-
The alert status is set down to YELLOW and the tsunami is passing by the islands of Hawaii now. There is still danger to those close to or in the water. Here is the latest link from NOAA:
